My land that I didn't know Soraia
My family came from Angola on 25 April. Even though I was born here I hear so many stories that I feel I was there. From the smells of coffee and fruit to the typical cuisine, play barefoot, I feel that I am also from Angola. We are certainly different people, my family suffered greatly from decolonization, but in our house rules joy and a very strong union. As long as we have food at the table we are fine. I learnt to make Moamba, Pirão, Funge and I will spread the tradition! I listen to my grandmother remember with nostalgia the moments she lived in Africa, always happy to have been there. She erased the bitterness that the war might have left. My grandmother became a widow and came to Portugal with four children, some of them returned to our land, Angola.
